Two months before departure Elise and I were asked to join a team of three who were preparing to kayak the Bass Strait. We sourced a tandem kayak locally, did a few training paddles out near our home and booked the ferry. 

What followed was one of my favourite trips to date. Island hopping our way across the notorious stretch of water we came into contact with incredible wildlife, sensational humans and some of the most stunning bays in the world.
